12 to 2

Would you believe me if I told you that this dress was previously worn and was a size 12? This Wisconsin bride bought it off Craigslist from a seller in AZ and had it taken in to a size 2. I think more brides should be this savvy. I don't know how much she paid for it, but I'm sure that even after the alteration costs it still came in at a steal of a price. Most gowns are made bigger so that they can be taken in. I absolutely love the lace and the fact that the fabric under it isn't matching the color, it's like a creamy gold color. I saw this wedding over on Wedding Cabaret and the beautiful pictures were taken by Anda Marie Photography of Madison, WI.

Color!

I've posted about color storys before, but I've come across some other ones that I love so I thought I would share them with you! You can probably tell that I like more nuetral colors like browns and creams, colors that are muted or faded. but I absolutly love it when people throw in an accent color that is loud, fun and unexpected. I found all of these on 100LayerCake, but I think they got the first one through Snippet & Ink(it looks like something she would do).Aug 26, 2009
Sweetheart

I really adore this dress. I've always been drawn to sweetheart necklines but this seems to have something a little different, a little special. Maybe because it's not so dramatic. I also love how the bodice isn't ending at either the empire line or waistline, just in the middle. And of course the flower! Need I say more?Aug 25, 2009
Like My Mother

This Bride had her dress custom made to resemble her mothers wedding dress. How very sentimental! Her mom must of had great style because this dress is beautiful! I really like the lace, satin and tiers of ruffles on the skirt. I would love to see her mothers dress to compare the two, to see what she may have changed. Aug 24, 2009
Rustic Chic

I love how this dress has aysmetrical detailing on the neckline. I also really like the beaded and sequin belt that is attached. This dress is just very flowy and feminine. These are details that I aim for when designing dresses. {Images via Once Wed}

Eggplant

I just got an email from Coach advertising their new handbag 'The Brooke'. It's a perfect slouchy bag for fall, especially in the eggplant color. There is something I like about Coach, call me old fashion but I think their silhouttes are classic and you can use these bags season after season. I recieved a coach bag as a gift from someone and when some of the hardware started coming off I went into the store and they sent it in to be fixed up. I got a letter a few weeks later saying they were unable to fix the bag and gave me store credit. Awesome!

Little Pixie

I just love this brides simple short dress. The rose detail in the front adds a touch of something that isn't so drastic and loud that it takes away from the simplicity and the fact that she is getting married. after all your wedding day is about you and your partner and not a dress(but we all want to stand out and be the best dressed). Also your dress should express who you are. So for her and her day, this works and don't you just love the picture of them with the hearts on the wall!{pictures via Jonas Peterson Photography}

Winners Circle

The ladies at Junebug Weddings were sweet enough to share some of the gorgeous photos from a recently had fashion shoot at the Racetrack. Look at the horses! The stunning photography is by La Vie Photography and all the gorgeous wedding gowns are by Monique Lhuillier. Oh Monique Lhuiller! I die everytime I see one of her dresses. She is probably my most favorite wedding gown designers. I think these are some amazing shots and some amazingly beautiful gowns. I'm starting to work on another dress now and inspiration and ideas are coming out of my ears with all of this!

A little bit country

I adore this gown. It brings out the country in me. I think because the lace is very 'little house on the prairie', but it's not a bad thing! This couple did not have a 'country' wedding and the dress works! I think many brides-to-be looking for there dress see lace and think country or old but it can very much be the opposite. Well I have to admit that if anyone came to me and asked me to make them a dress with this kind of lace I would love them forever!

Emersonmade for You

Aren't these so cool!? I can't get enough of them. My favorites are the Shoulder bouquet series and the School Bloom series. Oh, Who am I kidding I actually love all of them. I really just need to break down and buy one for myself. But on a gown view, I really like that these blooms can be used as a belt or as a corsage. You could really bring out your personality at your wedding, your bridesmaids and even just everyday to dos. Please check out her blog Emersonmade for you and if you are interested in making a purchase check out her shop here.
