Well I'm a little early on celebrating fathers day, but I have been saving this post to leave you for this weekend.
Please head over to 100 layer cake for the full story. I couldn't help but tear up.
“My dad was always present in our thoughts when we were planning. I’m so grateful he got to meet (and, of course, approve) of Matt before he passed away."
"We all got tearful and I knew he didn’t mind we were wedding planning on “his day”, moreover that he approved and promised to be a lucky charm."
"...And when I did a google image search of the school plus “wedding” one of my favorite pictures of my dad (receiving a medal as a Distinguished Professor) came up.”
This makes me so thankful that I have my father with me hear today. Love you dad!!

I saw this post too, and loved it so very much. Father's day is tough for me because mine passed away when I was 10. But I have a great stepdad and a terrific older brother who love me which makes it better!
what a moving story. i'm lucky to have mine as well, a fact that's all too easy to take for granted! have a wonderful weekend, kirby!
I got so teary eyed. It's such a beautiful story. I'm so happy my dad is still around (and likes my boyfriend). I won't be with him this Sunday, but I'm planning to make it up to him.
Oh wow... thank you so much for sharing, dear! I don't follow 100 layer cake much anymore, so i tend to miss these amazing posts. Your summary of it is just perfect!
