Wedding Plans: Stress

when trying to think of what wedding topic I wanted to present to all of you fabulous readers I can't help but feel a tremendous amount of stress at this moment.  We all stress about different things, matching the exact color of a place mat to a bridesmaid dress, the shape of our bouquet to the weather forecast.
Me?  I stress out about invites and saving hundreds of dollars by thinking I could do them myself.  I was beside myself when printers quoted me almost $1000 to print my invites(invites that my friend would be designing and I would assemble myself, because they charge more to assemble and stuff them into envelopes).  Maybe I was looking in all the wrong places, but no thanks.  So I decided to take them on myself.  easy, right?  buy paper, print and assemble.  Wrong!  So Wrong!
After multiple attempts to print, files not doing what we want them to do and printers getting jammed, I sit here with a nice class of red wine holding my breath during my final attempt to DIY.

It worked!  I had almost given up hope.  I was starting to think that we would not be able to hire the videographer so we could put that money toward printing the invitations.

If there is any advice I can give to other brides is to take one day at a time, ask for help and prioritize.  If you are stressing out about something that is near the bottom of your priority list then you it's probably nothing to stress over.  I'm not sure if there is a bigger lesson to be learned here, but I felt the need to share all the highs and lows of my personal wedding planning process.

What I learned tonight is to keep faith and everything will work out.

What were/are the stresses that you went through during your planning process?

Totally understand. We printed our own and then they arrived the ink from the colored paper and the ink from the printing all had run together in the humid mail. Invitation FAIL. But we got a full refund from Michael's. :)

Gosh, I am going through this too! I am on a shoe-string budget, and found that Wal-mart has very nice wedding announcements ($20 for 50 cards, RSVP cards included!) We are then going to print out what we want written at FedEx.
I was also looking for cheap Save-The-Dates... unfortunately, cheap often means "ugly". Do you have any advice on this? We want to do ones with pictures too... Thanks!!

BTW, I have also been having a glass of wine with all of this... definitely helps the stress! :)

to the above poster: use picnik! Take a photo, write on it, order prints, and stick them in envelopes.
We did ours for about $30.

to Kirby: my planning drove me crazy! My mom did a lot of it, thankfully. But it shall pass. The big day itself is exciting, no matter what.

Planning a wedding can be both fun and stressful at the same time. It is good to have a checklist and if the budget allows it would be good to have a wedding planner/coordinator to help with everything. So far for wedding planning I think blogs and Pinterest is a big help, especially with giving ideas for the event. =)
